When I was 14 I got my first “real” skateboard. Not one of those cheesey Wal-Mart brand deals with the plastic trucks and some hot pink and green color scheme. I got it because I always thought it was cool. I got it to be cool. I turn 26 this year, and looking back trying to be cool was the reason I begged my parents to buy me a skateboard, but the reason I rode it had nothing to do with that.
